Newark Celebrity Weekend 2011 promises to be our best one yet. We will have celebrities from sports and entertainment as well as business leaders from across the nation and beyond descending into Newark to support this growing yearly event. This year's event will be covered by BET. Members of the BET.com staff will be guest speakers at the Hip Hop Business Summit. Members from BET.Com's new web series Generation Next will also meet for the first time at the event. The celebrity golf tournament is set to be another hit. Foursomes will again go for $100 per foursome, $30 for individuals with proceeds going to The YMCA on Broad Street Shelter Program. Please view pictures to see the fun that was had by all. This year promises to be even better with a commitment from several high profile celebrities and executives. In addition to playing golf with Newark?s youth our celebrities and executives will share their business experiences with youth from the greater Newark and surrounding areas. Prizes will be awarded to best team score, longest drive and closest to the pin. Stay tuned for more details.
We are inviting youth from Bergen, Union and Hudson counties to participate in the free Hip Hop Business Summit. This is a great educational experience for our young people to learn what it takes to be a successful business owner. The date will be announced in the next coming weeks, but it will most likely be in the month of July. ECSMG will present
Prudential with an award for their involvement with the weekend.
The ECSMG White Party will take place at a location in the Ironbound section of Newark. Last year's theme was a black or white attire event. This year's theme will be red or white attire. This event will carry a $30 cover charge with very good food included. We are very excited and are in anticipation of a great weekend.
